WBA featherweight world champion Jesus Cuellar (28-1, 21 KO’s) of Argentina and his opponent Hawaiian Gardens, California's former world champion Abner Mares (29-2-1, 15 KO’s) held separate workouts at Tuesday's media day at the City of Angels Boxing Gym in Los Angeles as the two will square off next week Saturday December 10th down the road at the Galen Center on the campus of U.S.C live on Showtime.

Jesus Cuellar

"Everything is well camp has been good training with Freddie Roach at the Wild Card. I am very well prepared,"

"Abner is a great athletic boxer and will come in ready to fight,"

'Robert is a good trainer that has good qualities, we have worked together and I have a lot of respect for him but that wont be enough for Abner to beat me,"

"I will leave it all in the ring on fight night,"

Abner Mares

"Camp has been great with no injuries and staying healthy, we are one week away in good spirits and very motivated with Robert,"

"You will see the diffence,"

"The way Robert trains me is phenomenal and I am happy to be with him,"

Also present at the media workout was Riverside, California's former world title challenger Josesito Lopez (33-7, 19 KO's) as he will take on Todd Manuel (12-11-1, 1 KO) of Louisiana in a scheduled ten round welterweight bout. This will be Lopez's first fight under new trainer Robert Garcia.

"It has been a while for me. I have had time off recovering,"
