Ryan Garcia Wins Majority Decision Over Carlos Morales


Lightweight prospect Ryan Garcia (16-0, 13 KOs) of Victorville, California and Carlos Morales (17-3-3, 6 KOs) of Los Angeles squared off in the main event at the Fantasy Springs Event Center in Indio, California. Garcia displayed the flashy hands in the opening round but Morales sneaked in the right hand catching the young fighters attention early on. Morales pressed and stuck the jab in round two as Garcia kept his distance popping the jab as well. Early in round three, Garcia went right at Morales connecting with a one-two, the young prospect followed up with a solid left hook busting up Morales's nose. A solid left hook by Garcia in the fourth found its mark, snapping Morales head back as he chased Garcia. Morales continued to press the flashy Garcia landing straight to the body as Garcia unloaded the fast combinations.

Past the halfway point in the sixth round a bloodied Morales stalked but a solid left hook by Garcia staggered Morales but that did not stop him from going at Garcia. Continuing to stalk in the seventh, Morales cut the ring and connected with a left hook catching Garcia as he was wobbled. The tied began to turn as Morales landed another solid left hook to start the eighth, Morales had the youngster concerned late in the fight. Morales continued to be the aggressor late in the fight as he kept coming at Garcia, as the undefeated fighter kept his distance boxing. The tenth and final round Morales searched for the knockout as Garcia was conservative boxing away.

In the end the judges scored the bout 98-92, 98-92, and 95-95 as Garcia pulls of a majority decision

In the co feature bout super welterweight Neeco Macias (17-0, 10 KOs) of Lancaster, California stopped Marvin Cabrera (8-1, 6 KOs) of Mexico. Fighting at a fast pace in the early rounds Macias unloaded as Cabrera countered off the ropes. Macias outworked Cabrera as he continued to have him on the ropes but the Mexican didn't seem to be bothered by Macias punches. However Macias set a punch record as he overwhelmed Cabrera who did not come out of his corner after the fifth.

Middleweights Patrick Texeira (28-1, 22 KOS) won a unanimous decision over Nathaniel Gallimore (20-2-1) in a scheduled ten round bout. The Brazilian Texeira had his way throughout the fight out boxing Gallimore. All three judges scored the bout 78-74

Kevin Ventura (10-0, 8 KOs) of Omaha Nebraska scored a unanimous decision victory against Eduardo Reyes (9-15, 6 KOs) of Tamaulipas, Mexico in a six-round lightweight bout . The judges scored the fight 59-54, 59-54, and 58-55.

Alex Rincon (5-0, 5 KOs) of Dallas, Texas scored a third-round technical knockout against Osbaldo Gonzalez (6-3, 4 KOs) of Tulsa, Oklahoma in a middleweight fight scheduled for six rounds. The fight was stopped at 2:23 seconds of the aforementioned round.

Super lightweight George Rincon (5-0, 2 KOs) of Dallas, Texas defeated Daniel Perales (10-14-1, 5KOs) of Monterrey, Mexico via unanimous decision in a four-round bout. All three judges scored the bout 40-35.

In the opening bout Sergey Lubkovich (9-0, 7 KOs) of Kostroma, Russia scored a TKO win against Juan Ruiz (21-3, 13 KOs) of Tijuana, Mexico at the end of the second round of a scheduled eight-round super welterweight bout.
