Austin Williams Outduels Patrice Volny: Berlanga Returns with 1st Round KO

Orlando's Austin “Ammo” Williams (18-1, 12 KOs) returned with a victory over Patrice Volny (19-2, 13 KOs) of Montreal, Canada in winning unanimous decision (118-110, 116-112, 115-113) ) in the main event at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Floria headlining on DAZN.



In the evenings co-main event, super middleweight Edgar Berlanga (23-1, 18 KOs) made quick work of Jonathan Gonzalez-Ortiz (20-1-1, 16 KOs) in scoring a first round knockout.



Making his professional debut, Team USA Olympic Bronze Medalist Omari Jones (1-0, 1 KO) received a hero’s welcome by the hometown crowd as he stopped Alessio Mastronunzio (14-6, 4 KOs) in the second round of the super-welterweight bout.



Former world title challenger Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz (19-2-1, 9 KOs), outclassed Puerto Rico’s Yomar “The Magic” Alamo (22-4-1, 13 KOs) via 10-round unanimous decision (99-91, 99-91, 98-92) to capture the WBA Continental USA Super-Lightweight title


Jalil Hackett, who was scheduled to fight tonight suffered an ankle injury preventing him from competing in his scheduled bout against Jose Roman.


On the undercard, Pablo Valdez (9-0, 8 KOs) defeated Mauro Maximiliano Godoy (37-11-1, 18 KOs) with a technical knockout in the eighth round of a super welterweight fight.


In the first bout of the evening, Carlos De Leon Castro (4-0, 3 KOs) earned himself a stoppage victory over Carl Rogers (3-2, 0 KOs) with a third-round technical knockout in a super-featherweight contest.
