Controlling the action from the opening bell, Sandoval used a piston-like jab in the first-round while unloading his full arsenal in the second stanza. The game Bernaldez did his best to counter the aggressive Sandoval, but in the fourth round the Filipino veteran was badly hurt from a body shot. Following up with a blistering right hand, the Freddie Roach trained Sandoval sent Bernaldez to the canvas as referee Rudy Barragan reached the count of ten at the :34 mark with the sold-out crowd standing and roaring their approval.
