Miguel Maravilla

‘King’ Callum Walsh, (12-0, 10 KOs), of Ireland held a media workout Tuesday afternoon at the Wild Card Boxing Gym as he was joined by his Hall of Fame trainer, Freddie Roach and promoter, Tom Loeffler of 360 Promotions. Walsh returns to the ring Sunday, March 16, St. Patrick’s Day Weekend against Dean Sutherland, (19-1, 7 KOs) in the main event at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

“I feel great, the adrenaline is really pumping now as it’s getting closer to leaving for New York City. Every camp I’m learning more from Freddie and becoming smarter in the ring. Sutherland has a great record and he’s coming to win and take my belt.”

“Fighting at Madison Square Garden is special for me, this is my third time headlining. The support there is unbelievable. There’s nothing like an Irish boxing crowd on St. Patrick’s Day weekend and I can’t wait to put on another show.”

“With seven Irish born fighters on the card it’s going to be action from start to finish. You don’t get on this card unless you’re a real fighter, nobody is going to be dancing around during their fights. The Irish want action and that’s what the entire card will give to them, start to finish.”

“One step at a time, one fight at a time. I’ve got the best team in boxing behind me with Tom and Freddie along with Dana White. They’ll make all the right moves for me, I just need to focus on fighting and winning.”

“Madison Square Garden is my favorite venue to promote it, there’s nothing like a big boxing show at The Mecca. From my time promoting there with Kevin Kelley, Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko, Gennadiy Golovkin and Roman Gonzalez, I have many memories of truly great nights at Madison Square Garden and all the fight weeks in New York.”

“Callum is the most marketable young fighter in boxing, selling thousands of tickets in Dublin, Los Angeles, Boston and of course New York.”

“We’re expecting a packed house for this card on March 16 and I encourage fans to purchase tickets in advance. Callum brings out the crowds and there will be no shortage of celebrities at the fight.”

“Every fight on this card will be a banger and will live up to the title, The Biggest Irish Boxing Card in New York City history.”
