Louis Lopez (13-2-1, 4 KOs) vs. Benjamin Lamptey (13-11-9, 2 KOs), a scheduled 8-round welterweight bout, will serve as the main event.

Here is what Acosta had to say about is recent training camp, his matchup with Mercado, fighting for the last time on a Thompson card, and more.

On his recent training camp:

“I put in the work necessary to be at my best going into this fight. Every day I finish in the gym I know I gave everything I could to get better. Sitting on my punches is something that is getting better with each camp. All in all I had an incredible training camp and I’m feeling great.”

On his matchup with Edy Valencia Mercado:

“Mercado is a tough guy with a lot of fights. I’m going to control this fight by outboxing him from the outside. If the fight goes on the inside I’ll be ready for that style as well. I know if I stick to the gameplan I’ll come out on top.”

On what a win will do for his career:

“A victory against Mercado will be another step in the right direction. I’m on a nice winning streak right now and I have big plans to put myself in position to be in a meaningful fight. Every fight from here on out is crucial to me landing that big fight.”

On fighting on Thompson's final show:

“I’m going to miss fighting at the Doubletree under the Thompson Boxing banner. They’ve always treated me good, and I’ll never forget the support they provided. There is no other promoter like Thompson Boxing in my humble opinion. They really cared about their fighters and built up a lot of guys from Southern California. I’m grateful to the entire Thompson Boxing family.”
