WBC Continental Americas featherweight champion Omar Trinidad (16-0-1, 12 KOs) of Boyle Heights, California is back in action this Saturday night as he takes on IBF #4 ranked Hector ‘La Maquinita’ Sosa, (17-2, 9 KOs), of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Trinidad squares off against Sosa at the Commerce Casino in headlining UFC Fight Pass.
Gearing up for his upcoming fight, Trinidad has had a solid preparation as he gets set to return to the ring for the third time this year.
This year the undefeated Trinidad scored an eight-round knockout over Jose Perez and is coming off a tenth-round stoppage of Victor Slivinskyi.
Ranked 13 by the IBF and 15 by the WBC, Trinidad looks to make a statement against the top-rated Argentinian. In a division that includes champions Rey Vargas, Brandon Figueroa (interim), Angelo Leo, Rafael Espinoza, and Nick Ball. Other names in the division include Bruce Carrington, and Raymond Ford. Trinidad hopes a win against Sosa can help catapult him to a shot at the top names at 126.
